Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation, & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Chhatarpur is functioning under the administrative control of Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for Speech & Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan), Mumbai, (Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India). CRC- Chhatarpur is working as composite regional Centre since 8th April, 2023 with the objective of providing a number of Centre based clinical and community-based rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Madhya Pradesh. It was inaugurated by Dr. Virendra Kumar, Hon’ble Union Minister, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India in the gracious presence of Shri Om Prakash Sakhlecha, Hon’ble cabinet Minister of MSME & Science and Technology, Govt. of Madhya Pradesh.

Key Objectives
- To serve as Resource Centre for rehabilitation and special education of persons with disabilities.
- To undertake human resource development by training rehabilitation professionals, village level workers, multi-rehabilitation workers and other functionaries in Govt. and non-Govt. sector, required for providing services to persons with disabilities.
- To undertake public education programmes for creation of awareness in the parents and the community.
- To undertake designing, fabrication and fitment of aids and appliances.
- To undertake services of education and skill development leading to enhancement of opportunities for employment, rehabilitation, mobility communication recreation and integration in society.
- To undertake research and development with specific reference to needs of divers groups of people with disability, keeping in view the nature and severity of disability in the region.
- To develop strategies for delivery of rehabilitation services suitable to the socio- cultural background of the region.
- To stimulate growth of services by encouraging and supporting voluntary organization, parents groups and self-help groups.
- To establish linkages with existing medical, educational and employment services, following the principles of community-based rehabilitation and offer extension services in the rural area.

Centre Based Services
CRC-Chhatarpur has nine departments as part of a multi-disciplinary team that provides clinical services in the form of comprehensive assessments and interventions for persons with disabilities.
Human Resource Development
CRC-Chhatarpur undertakes human resource development through conducting Short Time training Programs for various stakeholders like Parents, Regular Teachers, Special Educators, Siblings, AWW, ASHA Workers, Rehab professionals, NGOs, SHGs, DPOs and other health functionaries. In near future we will start Diploma and Certificate Level Programs recognized by Rehabilitation Council of India and SCPwD.
CRC-Chhatarpur is committed to building collaborative partnerships with various groups that include PWDs, parents of PWDs & siblings of PWDs, Rehabilitation and medical Professionals, NGOs, Anganwadi, SSA and ASHA workers and other stakeholders so as to facilitate rehabilitation of PWDs and help, contribute in building a more inclusive society.
Community-Based Rehabilitation & Outreach Programmes
To organize regular training programmes that include various groups of society so as to bring in a more inclusive approach to social rehabilitation of PWDs in society.
To identify and include PWDs and their families located in rural and remote areas of Bundel Khand and provide supportive services as well as benefits of government schemes/policies and programmes.
Research and Development
CRC- Chhatarpur undertakes research on various aspects of disability and rehabilitation. The research carried out is based on emerging paradigms in the field of disability.
