Hostel Rules and Regulations of AYJNISHD (D)
The AYJNISHD (D) Head Quarter at Mumbai, has separate hostel accommodation for men and women students within its campus. The student selected to undergo any regular course of study conducted at the Institute and residing outside Greater Mumbai can avail hostel facilities extending from admission till the end of the course. The hostel accommodation is provided on first come first basis and is subject to availability.
Hostel Facilities:
- Hostel facilities are available for regular course students of the Institute and its RC’s.
- Students residing outside the district in which the Institute and its RC’s are located are eligible.
- Mere admission to courses doesn’t confirm the right to a hostel room.
- Rooms are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Students who have failed the University/RCI examination have to compulsorily vacate the hostel within 7 days of the declaration of results.
Room Allotment and Facilities:
- Rooms are allotted only by the Hostel Warden.
- Accommodation is usually on a sharing basis.
- Rooms allotted once cannot be exchanged without permission.
- Each student is provided with:
- One cot
- One cupboard
- One reading table and chair
- Students must bring their own mattress, bucket, mugs and personal items.
- Hostel rooms must be vacated within one week< after the final examination.
- Students reappearing for examinations may be allowed to stay 7 days before the exam on daily payment basis subject to availability of rooms.
- Caution deposit will be refunded after obtaining a No Dues Certificate from the respective Hostel Warden.
Hostel Timings:
- All students must be inside the hostel by 9:30 p.m. daily at the Institute.
- Hostel gate closes at 9:30 p.m. daily. Timings vary in RC’s.
- Students are not allowed to leave the hostel without permission from the Hostel Warden.
- Students returning late without prior permission must:
- Surrender their Identity Card to the Security.
- Report to the Hostel Warden to get it back
- Students returning late to the campus/hostel must pay a penalty of Rs. 200/- for each occasion.
- Students with missing ID card must pay penalty of Rs. 300/- for each occassion.
- Repeated violations will result in strict disciplinary action.
- During college hours, no students are permitted to stay in their hostel rooms.
Emergency after Classes / Clinicals :
- In case of any emergency after 9:30 am, students must immediately contact the Security Guards (Girls must contact the female Guard) & intimate the concerned Nurse cum Hostel Warden/ Hostel Wardens.
Visitors’ Timings :
- Visitors are allowed only from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
- Visitors can be received only at the Reception Hall or Canteen.
- Visitors are not allowed inside hostel rooms.
- Entry beyond visiting hours is allowed only in emergencies with Warden’s permission.
Unauthorized Stay :
- Relatives or friends are not allowed to stay in hostel rooms.
- If an unauthorized person is found:
- ₹500 per person per day fine
- ₹200 per day fine for the concerned student
- Repeated violation may lead to cancellation of hostel accommodation
- Roommates who do not report such incidents will be fined ₹100.
Electrical Appliances and Internet :
- Allowed without permission:
- One mobile charger
- One laptop
- Other appliances (iron, table lamp, kettle, etc.):
- Allowed only with Warden’s permission
- 200 per month charge
- Always switch off lights, fans and appliances before leaving the room and during daytime.
- ₹100 fine for each violation
- Repeated violations may lead to confiscation of appliances
- Internet facility is available for all Post Graduate students.
Cleanliness, Safety, and Care of Hostel Property :
- Taking care of the personal belongings is the sole responsibility of the students.
- Cooking inside rooms is strictly prohibited.
- 500 fine and confiscation of cooking items such as Induction stoves, Electric cookers.
- Roommates who fails to report and remain silent will also be fined 200/-.
- Keep rooms clean and tidy.
- Do not write, paste posters, or damage walls, doors, windows, or furniture.
- Gym equipment and washing machines must be used carefully.
- Repair costs due to damage will be shared by hostelers.
The electricity bill for rooms showing increased consumption will be borne by the roommates of the respective rooms.
Complaint with respect to hostel infrastructure should be informed to Hostel Warden and should be entered in the register.
Common Facilities :
- The Institute and hostel premises are under CCTV surveillance.
- Use of furniture and other common items must be used carefully, damage or loss will be recovered from hostellers.
- Canteen services:
- 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
- Closed on Sunday evening
- Drinking water facility is available.
Housekeeping and Sanitation :
- The Hostel rooms should be maintained neat and clean.
- Cleanliness of toilets, bathrooms, and pantry areas is everyone’s responsibility.
- Housekeeping services are available Monday to Saturday
- 7:15 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
- If cleaning staff are absent, inform the Hostel Representative or Warden immediately.
- Use dustbins to dispose the waste.
Leave Application :
- Students are required to submit the duly filled leave application form clearly mentioning the reason, date and time of leaving, and the expected date of return. In case they are unable to return on the specified date, they must seek an extension of leave duly supported with a fresh application and consent letter of their parent/guardian.
- Written consent needs to be obtained from their parents/guardians mentioning the date of leave and date of return in the form of a signed letter. Further, in case a student wishes to avail leave during college working days, it is mandatory to obtain prior written permission from the Course Coordinator/I/c Academic Cell.
- Without proper application and parental consent, no student will be permitted to leave the hostel during the specified hours.
- Students must obtain prior permission from the Hostel Warden/ Nurse cum Hostel warden/ Assistant warden before 5:30 PM on all working days. Applications/requests submitted after 5:30 PM and on weekends will not be considered.
- In cases of genuine medical emergencies only, students may approach the Nurse cum Hostel Warden at his/her residence for necessary permission. Proper medical documents/justification may be required to validate the emergency.
- If a student wants to stay in the hostel during Winter/Summer/Semester/breaks, the same may be intimated to the warden.
- In the case of medical leave, a copy of the medical certificate needs to be submitted to the hostel warden.
General Discipline :
The following are strictly not allowed in the hostel:
- Loud music, noise, or any activity that disturbs others.
- Alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or any intoxicating substances.
- Abusive language, bullying, harassment, or misbehaviour.
- Taking leave without permission from Hostel Wardens is not allowed and invite disciplinary action.
Violation of these rules will lead to strict disciplinary action, including fine, suspension, or cancellation of hostel accommodation.
The decision of the Hostel Wardens is final.
Living Together Respectfully :
- Maintain a cordial relationship with other hostel inmate’s.
- Full cooperation in maintaining discipline and smooth functioning of hostel administration is expected from every students.
- Mutual respect, discipline, and cooperation will make hostel life safe, pleasant, and memorable for everyone.
- No celebrations like birthdays are allowed inside the hostel without prior permission.
- No ragging or similar activities are strictly prohibited inside the hostel
NOTE :
All hostel students are hereby informed that following are the rules regarding permission to leave the hostel:
- Students are required to submit a written application clearly mentioning the reason, date and time of leaving, and the expected date of return. The same may be followed by the Institute’s Regional Centers. However, the Assistant Directors can make necessary modifications if needed.

MEDICAL FACILITIES:
As applicable/available at Regional/Composite Centers. Following facilities available at Mumbai.
- A doctor is available for free consultation at the Institute between 8.30 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. on working days, ground floor D-wing of the Institute. Institute nurse is also available from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on working days.

- In the event of hospitalization the Hostel Warden will extend the required help.

Discipline: Discipline has to be maintained by the students in class rooms, clinics and hostel. Smoking and consumption of alcohol is strictly prohibited in the Institute premises and hostel. Complaints are viewed seriously and action, as deemed fit, is initiated by the competent authority. Smoking or chewing of Tobacco in the Institute premises will attract a fine of Rs. 500/- and also liable for disciplinary action.
Ragging: The Institute authorities take utmost care and preventive measures have been instituted to curb the menace of ragging in the institute and in the hostel. An anti-ragging committee has been formed comprising senior faculty and staff that counsel the students and bring to the notice of students that ragging can result in suspension, expulsion or rustication from the college, commencement of criminal proceedings and even imprisonment. The committee takes special surprise rounds and maintains day to day contact with the students to ensure that no untoward incident occurs in the Institute premises. All students and their parents / guardian are required, at the time of admission, to submit an affidavit that they are aware of the repercussions of ragging.
